Basically, there are lots of physics principles were related to the absurd things occurred in Mystery Spot included the experiment made by the phsychology professor from University College Santa Cruz, Bruce Bridgeman. According to Bridgeman, Mystery Spot is the best place to explain how optical illusion affect what you see and how it works due to the specific strange locus. It is further explained that people will look at the deviation occurred due to the extra sensory ability which called proprioception that unconsciously develops and "screen" a wrong information to brain. Even the hanging heavy load from the ceiling could deviate to suspended angle so, human being also affected!

Mystery & Perceptions

Assalamualaikum and Hi. Mystery Spot has receieved lots of ideas on how the weird event happened as in previous post. So according to the experiments conducted by some the researchers who passionate with the deviation of nature occurred, they found out theories on Mystery Spot.

According to William (cited in Shaw),time moves at slower rate when someone enters the mystery spot. It is at least "3 minutes 40 seconds" late in a day and this has led to changes towards all metrics such as the volume, mass, frequency, gravity, time and energy while walking through the spot. This is supported by the response from a website saying;

 " I've been to the Oregon vortex. I remember I went there with my friend who is a good 6 inches shorter than me. We stood at this spot marked by a horizontal board lying on the ground, and it looked like it was perfectly parallel to flat ground. When I stood at one end, I looked much taller than I should have been relative to her, and then when we switched spots, we looked to be the same height. It makes sense if the board wasn't actually on flat ground." 

All we can interpret here is the real metrics have been departed from their established standard and caused confusion for people who walk in to that locus. "William also determined the "shape" of the anomaly based on actual observations. He shows in the video all his equipment and actual data collected." However the result could not be analysed here unless we pay for the video. No problem! Let us review another experiment made by the other researchers. According to a Americana Through the Years, people explained that Mystery Spot was an alien marks that once upon a time happened in that particular place which finally caused miserable and result to adverse effect and vomitting. On the other hand, based on Terriann Van Gosliga (2012), Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz is totally a crowded space for tourist to observe and enjoy the strange of the anomalies. 

"His sets the stage for some crazy perception changes. As you hike the up the seemingly innocent incline, you notice that climb feels harder and more strenuous then it should. You are then led to an obviously skewed cabin. Though you know the cabin is built at an angle, that doesn’t detract from the things you see. All logic in regards to gravity and how things ‘should’ act is gone." It explained how the place gives abnormal effect to the visitors and it is also said that the flora found in that place grew in peculiar way.

The spot was more surreal when people could notice that redwoods grew awkwardly which only some of the branches that away from the Sun would grow while one of eucalyptus grew skewly spiral. She also added people would stand at odd angles! Find out more experiment in next entries! :D

What is Mystery Spot?

Assalamualaikum and Hi. So dear readers, let us take a look what is the significant things behind the title of The Enigmatic Locus of Santa Cruz California in United States of America. It is where the deviation of gravity happen in that area and leads to weird effects on every single stuff placed around the spot which is said to be ".. a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter". Before that, let us look it in general scope. There a lots of places in the USA which experience mysterious and unexplainable effects for example "...Balls roll uphill, brooms stand on end at odd angles, people's heights seem to change as they walk about.." The mysterious place is not only at Santa Cruz California.

Next, it is also the Oregon Vortex Mystery Spot

Since the gravity is not the same or "uniform" in every places in this world, thus certain areas will be experiencing unidentified and unresolved mystery for ages.

To discover the mystery, there were two consistent and committed 19th Century professor from University of California, Berkeley have been conducted a series of research to reveal the secret on the anomalies on gravity towards Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz California. They are William Prinzmetal and Arthur Shimamura respectively.

So how actually Mystery Spot in California was found? It was how Mr Prather, the original owner would like to purchase a specific area of land to build a summer house or mountain cabin but the man refuse to sell the requested land unless he purchased "a strip across the entire south end of his property, including this hillside." After negotiation and they finally bought the whole land as asked by the man and found something has gone beyond the nature. 

 "..we noted the compass to vary a small amount on the transit and spoke to him about it at that time. He said we might get that variation along a barbed wire fence or some mineral in the ground and let it pass at that. On thinking it over later, there was no barbed wire fence near where we were at the time, and as far as we knew, no excessive mineral in this ground; so we took our own small hand compass and went up over the north line to try and check on it. The variation there was not great enough that we could tell anything about it with the point of the hill and through the brush. On returning, we came down the little canyon or draw above here. In doing so we felt very light headed or top heavy, felt like something trying to force us right off the hill. We sat down for a while to try and overcome that feeling. While sitting there we happened to look at the compass again. There, the compass had varied enough that we needed nothing to compare it with to tell that it was not correct. We began to check from that, and we found the more we checked the more we found, until we found we had this spot of ground here. About one hundred fifty feet in diameter, that so far, we have not found any instrument absolutely correct over. A portable radio will play any place over it, but with very little variation, being the nearest correct that we have found". 

 It is a similar case to the other mysterious spot where the person who went to the place and detected the extraordinary forces to the objects they brought during the trip and they experienced strange and stunning gravity effects. Researchers have been conducting various of experiments to figure out what is happening at the diameter, but until now, it is remained a puzzle! After it was discovered in 1939 by surveyors group, it was opened to public in 1940 and has become a tourist attraction place all over the world to experience the anomalies. Since we have reviewed on its history, let's meet up again in next entries to get more information on how both researchers from Berkeley conducted their experiments and finalized theories on this mystery spot. It has been multiples of perceptions by people on how the spot exist but none of the research could prove the thing! Mystery Spot has been said to have cones of metal that brought and buried secretly in ground to be used as guidance systems for their spacecraft. Some people also come out with the idea of spacecraft has buried deep by itself. Not to neglect the theories on "carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a hole in the ozone layer, a magma vortex, the highest dielectric biocosmic radiation known anywhere in the world, and radiesthesia. DNMC : Introduction

Assalamualaikum Hello and Hi everybody. First and foremost I would like to introduce myself. I am Nurul Ashikin binti Mohd Nohan or also known among friends and lecturers through my Facebook name - Ashikin Nohan.

I am currently finishing my final year in Diploma in English Communication, in one of the most well-known MARA college -Kolej Profesional MARA Indera Mahkota, which I will be graduating soon in the end of this year. Last Semester in 4th Semester, I have been writing for Critical Literacy subject and it was a tough subject, indeed! We will be meeting again in another subject which is called Digital and Media Communication with code ITE 3563. This subject explains on how we utilising the IT devices and all related things to daily life especially for academic purposes where it touches on E-learning, the methods of learning through different sensory ability i.e kinesthetic, auditory, and visual. 

Further in this subject, the students are required to have own blog to post informations on certain registered topic. So the topic is only to cover on certain things which are; Mysterious events for instance - Missing off MH 370, Mystery of Titanic, or perhaps the 11th September incident in 2011. It is also could possibly be Myterious Places which could narrow down on Bermuda Triangle, Stonehenge etc. Next, the Weird Law on particular norms in different areas in countries across the globe is also acceptable. Therefore, despite of all stated and suggested topics, I have found something amazing, appealing and worth to be read especially those who love travelling! In that case,I have chosen the Mystery Spot. Have you ever heard about Mystery Spot?

  In addition, we would find how Mystery Spot has been a place under spotlight where everyone loves to visit Mystery Spot Therefore, I could sum up in the end of the post where people could gain lots of knowledge on Mystery Spot. "The ending somehow the beginning"

Five People Meets in Heaven has quoted “The ending would sometimes being as the beginning of life.” This portrays the ending is actually the starting point of new life. Critical Literacy has come to and end yet, the knowledge gained is forever. The syllabus nowadays normally just as a prerequisite towards the better academic result however would never inculcate the student to be a holistic high achiever if the critical literacy component is not included. It is absolute need to aware the student regardless of level of study and institutions to be critical thinker in viewing idea which finally shape the new generation a futuristic ones.

The subject has introduced me to be very meticulous in order to digest statement and any information I read. It is not to be a perfectionist however the phenomena where everyone can simply write and influence people, Critical Literacy has woken up the students to look both sides of evaluation. Not to be judgmental and biased with what has been served would certainly shift the way of thinking among the young people to get full details before make an action, to be a detailed observer.

Since there is lots of rumors spreading virally in the stream of technology advancement, again the young people should be thought to be a person with own stand in order to make them strong in the right track of life. The beginning of life would never be sincere to show which one is true and the false unless the student or young people to be exact need to read multiple sources to attain the right facts, to listen to evidence actively and blend with her or his thought for a good view.

It brings the sense of you are responsible of what you are saying and lead the student to become a professional ones someday. For the betterment, I hope the approach of better way of thinking and make a sensible action in your life besides, the lecturer also know what Critical Literacy is all about . I really enjoy the lesson in class and I am becoming aware the need to be cautious of what I am going to read in daily life-find the worthiness of facts. Finally, I really hope the CL syllabus would be continuously taught in class in order to ensure student are packed with the professional criteria for a competitive marketplace in the near future.

Lack of Empathy?

Assalamualaikum everyone

In the response of voice out by Syed Umar Ariff regarding the issue of Nik Aziz and Hadi statement of BR1M by likening the recipients as an animal portrayed a serious sense of anger from the writer. The writer believes that Nik Aziz and Hadi statement are harsh and rude to be used as he is a renowned leader as those people who promote Islamic qualities in real life. I agree with the statement saying that the leader should not using the harsh words to the public as stated by Peter Ducker “Management is doing things right, leadership is doing the right things” however, I do believe Nik Aziz does not mean that way.

It is true that to likening the recipients as animals to object the government should not be applied since Malaysians are very sensitive in term of wordings in speech especially when it comes from a pious public figure in Malaysia. However Malaysia should research the exact meaning and full statement from him in order to judge him. This does not bring the mean I am defending him as I admit BR1M is likely helping the citizen to curb with the critical economic instability that lead to high living cost. According to Syed Umar response too, he oftenly refer Nik Aziz and Hadi statement as lack of emphaty in a  harsh way where he likely to be biased and to persuade people to object Nik Aziz statement.

The issue of lack of emphaty is not a big matter to be highlighted instead. It is how the government took an action plan where helping by giving money at the end would not really help Malaysians to shift the status of life. It is what Chinese proverb has said , “Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Again I am not objecting what did government do but sometimes the action plan is not really appropriate to change the Malaysians to be responsible to improve their life especially Malays, the owner of this land.

Last but not least, it is essential to consider the media who might having ploy with any party in order to persuade people to condemn Nik Aziz and Hadi’s lack of emphaty as both of them are from the opposition. It is a possibility if any third party who would create havoc between the politician to interrupt the peace and harmony in Malaysia. As I have said , Nik Aziz might has been delivered the different meaning -Kelantanese way of criticize people in old version which sometimes bring the sense of sarcasm but interpreted as being rude due to the slang use as the disparity between district mother tongue would differentiate the real message.

In a conclusion, it is how Malaysians should look thoroughly to any statement given by the public figure whether it is from the government party or the opposition as people would make mistake. It is normal to see any party give different point of view but how the people digest the word is important in spite of the reality of human being would have own thought, Nik Aziz and Hadi too should learn more to not be too direct as some people would misjudge the exact code.

Dire need for English to be a must-pass subject

Assalamualaikum and every good evening to all.

This entry would be my response towards the excerpt of a newspaper dated 25th February 2013 which was published in New Straits Times by Lavanya Lingan titled "Dire need for English to be a must-pass subject". 

The writer believes that English is imperative subject in order to make a change towards the educational status in Malaysia. It is an initiative to inculcate a better generation of Malaysia which is English is a medium and the new benchmark to be achieved. Yet, the writer highlights the question whether we are ready to realise the dream. Setting a new goal in our educational system need to consider a lot of things. Datuk Ali Hassan himself brings the idea of English as a must-pass subject still requires a lot of planning and preparations therefore, the upcoming results upon the student is promising.

A former teacher, Lee Mei Ling, 44 also commented that the new idea would put Malaysia as one of the famous education centre to study. It is how people would see Malaysia as an influential country when the new system of English be the must-pass subject in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) as improving English subject is not a simple job, it needs a hard working, effective action plans towards make it true. I would that in the next future, if the idea is implemented, Malaysia would born a huge number of professionals in any intellectual fields.

English language, a global language understand by millions of people worldwide.

However, the new idea still need to go a research and development to ensure the feedback given is positive. It is true when a parent commented (Fawziah Mohd Shahar, 42) English is a crucial subject when student learn in tertiary level. Every thing needs student to understand how English works in assignments, tasks and even the lecture in universities are mostly in English. Therefore, mastering English subject should be boosted and enhanced from the early beginning as making it a compulsory subject to be passed by students.

Apart being a futuristic in order to make the Malaysia generations is competent enough to play the game in real life , we should not neglect the mother tongue of Malaysia where Bahasa Malaysia is equally vital to be mastered. It is how to promote Malaysia to be excellence in many ways and not to forget their root as Malaysians.
